Box Park Event
London is without doubt a food lover’s paradise and not a week goes by when there isn’t another fabulous delicacy to try. There’s a new kid on the street food block this Sunday (9th June) called bunnychow.
Nothing to do with bunnies but everything to do with chow, this intriguing morsel is essentially a little hollowed out loaf stuffed with one of five delicious fillings – ‘Devil Chicken’ which is flavoured with chilli, ginger and lemongrass, ‘Crispy Pork’ with shallots, peppers and BBQ sauce, the ‘Monkey Gland Meatball’ simmered in a South African monkey gland sauce, the ‘Original Veggie’ and ‘Authentic Mutton’ – all served with delicious sour cream on top. Whilst it may sound like a thoroughly modern concept, the bunnychow actually originates from Durban, South Africa in the 1940s, so it’s not some faddy foodie invention but a tried and tested taste sensation.
Bunnychow lands in London at the uber cool Box Park in Shoreditch this Sunday, home to numerous exciting pop ups and concept shops, housed in stripped and refitted shipping containers. Box Park is a pop up mall just a few minutes walk from Liverpool Street Station and right next to Shoreditch High Street station. The community of inventive brands represented here is a showcase of innovative and exciting talent bringing the latest in fashion and creativity directly to the lucky residents of London.
Bunnychow will be driving the bunny street food truck to the Box Park Party so that everyone can try the big punchy, juicy flavours of these little loafs from 11am to 4.30pm on Sunday 9th June. As well as the appeal of the bunnies themselves there will also be sugar cane juice and rum cocktails and some live art created courtesy of our guest street/graffiti artist. It’s going to be an exciting event so come down and get stuck in to some bunnies, cocktails and sunshine.
